MJ Ryan specializes in coaching and leading retreats for high performance executives, entrepreneurs, and leadership teams around the world.

Her clients include Royal Dutch Shell, Facebook, Splunk, Microsoft, Mastercard, Aon Hewitt, the Dept of the Interior, the Boys and Girls Club, SheEO, a women’s entrepreneurial accelerator, and dozens of startups in all phases from solopreneur to Series C. She brings a 14-year business background as the founding CEO of a successful U.S. book publishing company to her practice.

MJ is one of the creators of the New York Times bestselling Random Acts of Kindness series and the author of The Happiness Makeover (finalist in the 2005 Books for Better Living award). Altogether, there are 1.75 million copies of her titles in print.

She has appeared on “The Today Show,” CNN, and hundreds of radio programs. Articles on her work have appeared in The New York Times, USA Today, Wall St. Journal, Health, Family Circle, Ladies Home Journal, Town and Country, Cosmopolitan and Yoga Journal.

MJ’s work is based on a combination of positive psychology, organizational development, strengths-based coaching, the wisdom traditions, and cutting-edge brain research. MJ is based in the Bay Area of California.
